Kitchen Connection 2021/2022 in Review

As the world around us continues to change, the team at Kitchen Connection knew that they needed to continue to push through and continue to work towards their goals. Which begs the question, what did we do in 2021?

Our biggest achievement this year has been working with the United Nations Food Systems Summit to finalize our Cookbook in Support of the United Nations. This has been an incredible journey and we are looking forward to launching it later this year! A new initiative we took on was Table Talks. This was created in partnership with the United Nations Department of Global Communications and the Food and Agriculture Organization.  This program brought together youth from around the world on a bi-monthly basis to talk about how they are creating change in the world of food. We were able to have over 100+ participants at each session from all over the world at various walks in life. We were also fortunate to have been able to join the School Meals Coalition! The School Meals Coalition is an emerging initiative of 60+ governments and a wide range of partners who drive actions that can urgently re-establish, improve and scale up food and education systems, support pandemic recovery and drive actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You can find out more about The School Meal Coalition at https://schoolmealscoalition.org

This year, we partnered with the World Food Forum to provide you even more opportunities to connect and learn about food. One of our favorite ways we did this was by launching the “Food For The Future” podcast. You can check out our episodes on any major streaming platform and here https://kitchenconnection.org/podcast

The last big initiative we had you may have already figured out if you’re here right now... Revamping our website! We hope that you enjoy the new design and invite you to take a look around.

All in all, 2021 has presented many challenges, but it has also provided an abundance of opportunities. As we continue into 2022, we are excited to see what we can accomplish as a community.
